heres a new one i learned 2 weeks ago..it has helped me lots.
C Major chord...we move upwards chromatically..so we go with flats..
C maj..add 5 flats..that means G is flated.. G flat resolves downward
1/2 step to from the top of the minor chord ( B flat minor ), the
major chord that comprises that key is 1/3 higher so its D flat
major..is that what we have?..yep..
ok..
D flat major..add 5 flats...thats 10 flats..( too cumbersome to work
with double flats or sharps..so subtract from 12 )..that means im in
2 Sharps..2 sharps..C is sharped so its resolution is D, which forms
the bottom of
the major
chord in that KEY..D major...is that what i have?..yep...
D major...( 2 sharps ) add 5 flats....= 3 flats...
A is flated ( 3 flats ) , resolves down to form the top of the minor
chord ( C min), 1/3 up to find the major chord..E flat major..is
that what we have ..yep..
ok..
etc etc etc...
